Loreto Chapel (Oberglogau)
The Loreto Chapel , or Loreto House, is a baroque replica of the Holy House (Casa santa) of Loreto within the Franciscan Church (Minorite Church) in Upper Silesian Oberglogau .
history
The chapel was built by Count Johann Georg III. Donated by Oppersdorff and built from 1630 to 1634. It was based on drawings by Georg III. which he made during his travels to Loreta. The chapel originally stood outside the church on its north side. When the church in 1636 by Count Georg III. was expanded, the Loreto Chapel was included in the expansion, making it within the church.
