Los Diablos

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Los Diablos was a pop band from L'Hospitalet de Llobregat , Barcelona , that was popular in Spain in the 1970s .

history

The group was initially called "Los Diablillos del Rock" ("The Rock Devils") and consisted of Agustín Ramirez (vocals), Enrique Martin (guitar), Amado Jaén (bass) and Emilio Sanchez (drums). In 1968 Gianni Escavirri joined them and they recorded their first records as “Los Diablos” (“The Devils”), such as Gracias amor .

In the summer of 1970 they achieved a number 1 hit in Spain with Un rayo de sol ("A ray of sunshine"), which also hit the charts in Germany (24th place). The German version with Michael Holm ( Wie der Sonnenschein ) was also successful and made it into the top ten. Originally, however, the song was a French song called Fernando , composed by Daniel Vangarde and Claude Carrère and sung by Sheila, who years later became known as Sheila B. Devotion . The Spanish lyrics were written by Los Diablos bass player Amado Jaén.
