The Los Ebanos Ferry , officially known as the Los Ebanos-Diaz Ordaz Ferry , is a hand-operated cable ferry that crosses the Rio Grande between Los Ebanos , Texas and Ciudad Gustavo Díaz Ordaz , Tamaulipas northeastern Mexico . Today it is the last of its kind along the entire Rio Grande to operate in the USA-Mexico border traffic. The ferry can transport up to 3 passenger cars. The ferry is operated by the residents of the two border towns.
