Los Fabulosos Cadillacs
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs is an Argentinian band. Its members changed over time, the singers Gabriel Fernández Capello (who still sings under the name Vicentico) and Flavio Cianciarulo (Señor Flavio) stayed with them until the end. The two also wrote most of the songs.
Band history
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs were founded in 1985 in Buenos Aires . During this time, the so-called second Ska wave in England experienced its climax with bands like Madness , The Specials , The Selecter and The English Beat , which may also have had a strong influence on the Fabulosos Cadillacs. Her own style developed over time and is perhaps best described as a mix of ska, jazz , salsa , folk and rap .
In chronological terms, the first record "Bares y fondas" (1986) followed probably after a few disco appearances, followed by 13 more. One of their most famous songs is called "Matador", with which they also won the MTV Video Music Award Latino. With the album Fabulosos Calavera , the band won the first Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album in 1998 . The album La Marcha del Golazo Solitario was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Awards.
After the band broke up in 2002, each devoted itself to their own projects. In April 2008 a reunification was announced. In addition to a tour through America and Spain starting in November 2008, a new album was recorded with La Luz del Ritmo , which was also nominated for a Grammy.
