Fort Allen is a military base of the Puerto Rico National Guard . The base is in the non-incorporated US American suburb of Puerto Rico near the city of Juana Díaz . The 1941 for the United States Army Air Corps originally as Losey Army Airfield built base as a training center for the National Guard of Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico stationed reserve units of the Armed Forces US used. There are currently no active units stationed at Fort Allen.

The Losey Army Airfield in 1941 in response to the higher force requirements for the upcoming participation in the Second World War established. During the Second World War, bomber and fighter units were stationed on the base . From 1949 the base was used by US ground forces and renamed Camp Losey and a year later Fort Allen . In 1981 Fort Allen was temporarily used for the reception of Haitian refugees . In 1983 the base was handed over to the Puerto Rico Army National Guard . The 35th Signal Battalion was relocated to Fort Allen in 2007 as part of War on Terrorism operations .

The Puerto Rico Army National Guard Officer Candidate School and the affiliated language school for recruits are located on the base . The National Guard also runs a youth project there for early school leavers. The over-the-horizon radar for monitoring South America is housed in Fort Allen and in 2011 the Fort Allen Armed Forces Reserve Center opened.
