The Lost Seal Stream is a 2.2 km long meltwater river in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Taylor Valley, it flows from the western edge of the Commonwealth Glacier into the northeast end of Lake Fryxell .

It got its name at the suggestion of the American hydrologist Diane Marie McKnight, head of the team of the United States Geological Survey , which examined the river system of Lake Fryxell between 1987 and 1994. It is named after a Weddell seal that got lost in the area north of Lake Fryxell in November 1990 and was evacuated to the New Harbor by helicopter . There is also another mummified specimen at the mouth of the river in the Fryxellsee .
