Lotfi Mhaissi (born September 4, 1964 in Tunis ) is a former Tunisian football player who played as a defender .

Career

Mhaissi was born in the capital and played for Club Africain when he was young . From 1985 to 1994 he played for the first team of Club Africain in the Tunisian first division . For the 1995/1996 season he moved to the traditional Saudi club Ittihad FC . For the Tunisian national soccer team he played 7 games, which were played between 1990 and 1993.

At national level, he won the Tunisian championship with his club in 1990 and 1992 and in 1992 with a 2-1 win in the final against Stade Tunisien the national cup.

Internationally, he won two titles with Club Africain. In the 1991 season, the African Cup of National Champions , in the first leg of the final won by Club Africain, Lofti Mhaissi scored two goals. This title was the first Champions League success for a Tunisian club.

When there was still no World Cup in which Champions League winners from all continents play in one tournament, a final with a return leg between the winners of the Asian and African Champions League was played between 1986 and 1998. In the 1991/92 season Lotfi Mhaissi won the Afro-Asian Cup with Club Africain against the Saudi representative Al-Hilal . CA won the first leg in Tunisia 2-1 against Al-Hilal, the second leg ended in a 2-2 draw. Lofti Mhaissi was a support for his team in both games, especially in Saudi Arabia.
