Stade Tunisien ( Arabic الملعب التونسي, DMG al-malʿab at-tūnisī ), known in Tunisia under the abbreviation ST , is a Tunisian sports club from the suburb of Le Bardo in the capital Tunis , which is best known for its soccer team and the women's basketball team.
The club colors are the Bey colors red, green and white, as the club was under the care of the Beys of Tunis from its foundation in July 1948 until Tunisia became independent in 1956.
The national A soccer team plays at home at the Stade Chedly Zouiten . It seats 18,000 spectators. The club had the period of great success in the league with four championships and several cup wins in the 1950s and 1960s. Stade Tunisien won the first edition of the Tunisian Cup in 1956 and in 1962 became the first Tunisian football club to win a double.
The club's women's basketball team can boast various African and Arab championship titles.
