Lothar Hermeling (* 1964 ) is a German basketball official . From 2005 to 2010 he was manager of the Bundesliga club TBB Trier .

Life

In the 2004/05 season Hermeling worked for the basketball Bundesliga club TBB Trier  in the areas of marketing and sales and at the beginning of September 2005 became managing director of the operating company of the Bundesliga club. In the summer and early autumn of 2010, the press reported on what the media described as a "signature affair". Hermeling was accused of forging Brian Brown's signature on a declaration of consent for a reduced salary. In July 2010 Hermeling was given leave of absence as a board member of the operating company. At the beginning of September 2010, he submitted his resignation as a board member, but remained marketing and sales manager. A few days later, the operating company of the Trier Bundesliga team separated from Hermeling with immediate effect. In the corresponding communication from the company it was said that the relationship of trust had "suffered lasting damage". In mid-September 2010, the newspaper Volksfreund reported, citing the public prosecutor's office in Trier, which had previously investigated unknown persons, that the former managing director had given a written confession that was extensive and plausible.

Later Hermeling worked as a player advisor and agent.
