Lotta Lotass

Britt Inger Liselott (Lotta) Lotass ( pronunciation : [ ˌlɔtːa ˈluːtas ], born February 28, 1964 in Borgsheden, Gagnef municipality ) is a Swedish author and literary scholar.

She received her PhD in literature in 2002 from the University of Gothenburg , where she also lives and works for Litteraturbanken , a digitization project for Swedish literature. On March 6, 2009 she was elected to the Swedish Academy , where she sat in chair No. 1 from December 20, 2009 as the successor to Sten Rudholm . Since November 2015 she has not taken part in the work of the Swedish Academy because, as she has justified herself, she does not have the necessary “social education” to participate in receptions. On May 7, 2018, her application to leave was approved after the academy had made it possible to leave in the course of the crisis in 2018. Since 2010 she has also been a member of the Kungliga Vetenskaps- och Vitterhets-Samhället i Göteborg .
