Lotter system

Lotter system in Amsterdam

A lotter system is an elevator device (with beam , wheel and rope) on facades or gables . This allows loads to be transported to the upper floors of buildings outside of buildings.

Lotter systems are considered worthy of preservation in the context of monument protection and the renovation of the old town . In the old town of Tübingen , for example, lotter systems with the associated facade openings and folding shutters are to be maintained and repaired for structural projects, provided that the project includes the area in which the lotter system is located. Maintaining the lotter systems does not necessarily mean maintaining their functionality. The expansion and use of the space behind is entirely possible.
