Loughscur

Loughscur is believed to be a collapsed portal tomb . It is near Keshcarrigan, less than 300 m south of Loughscur in County Leitrim , Ireland .

The status of the facility on Loughscur is controversial. Mostly interpreted as a portal grave or as the remains of a broken stone cleavage, it is possibly also a destroyed wedge tomb .

The megalithic complex is 1.45 m high, 3.70 m wide and a total of 10.5 m long (which speaks for a wedge tomb). The entrance is in the south. Constructed of limestone, the fragmented remains of an enormous capstone about 4.5 × 3.0 m (which speaks for a portal tomb) and two orthostats each about 1.2 m high protrude. The capstone has broken into four pieces. About seven meters north of the facility, there are two larger stones, one is upright and about one meter high.
