Louis Étienne Watelet
Louis Étienne Watelet (born August 25, 1780 in Paris , † June 21, 1866 in Paris) was a French painter .
Life
By studying nature, Watelet trained himself to be a landscape painter and initially painted landscapes with idyllic and historical staffage. A study trip to Italy undertaken in 1822 gave his works a more naturalistic direction, which he developed more and more, admittedly with a preference for a poetic-romantic mood. He influenced the development of French landscape painting in a naturalistic sense.
Watelet died on June 21, 1866, very old for this time in Paris.

and various alpine landscapes with mountain streams.
