Louis Clerc (historian)

Louis Clerc (* 1976 ) is a French historian .

Life

After graduating from the Institut d'études politiques de Strasbourg , he defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Strasbourg in 2007 . He received a lectureship in early 2016 and was elected Professor of Contemporary History at Turku University in June 2016 . As a visiting professor at the Helmut Schmidt University he taught courses on the winter war (autumn term 2016) and on France's foreign and security policy after the cold war (spring term 2017).

He specializes in international history, Finnish foreign policy, and public and cultural diplomacy and propaganda.
