Louis Galewsky

Louis Galewsky (born March 25, 1819 ; died April 28, 1895 in Breslau ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

Louis Galewsky founded the liqueur factory L. Galewsky & Co. in Breslau in 1844 , which later also had branches in Berlin and Gdansk . One of the company's well-known specialties was the herbal liqueur "Breslauer Dom", which was produced after the Second World War by GEFA Nürnberger Likörfabrik Richard Blokesch KG (today Nürnberger liqueur factory Bacchus-Kellerei). After Galewsky's death, the company was converted into a stock corporation and continued by his son Joseph Galewsky.

Galewsky's grave is located in the Jewish cemetery on Lohestrasse (now ul. Ślężna) in Wroclaw.

His son was the dermatologist Eugen Galewsky (1864-1935).
