Louis Muraton

Louis Muraton (born November 10, 1850 in Tours , Indre-et-Loire department , † November 20, 1901 in Paris ) was a French painter.

Muraton was a son of the painter couple Euphémie and Alphonse Muraton . He received his first artistic lessons from his parents. With their support he later came to Paris to the École des Beaux-Arts , where he became a student of Léon Bonnat , Alexandre Cabanel and Fernand Cormon .

In 1886 Muraton was invited by the Société des Artistes Français (SAF) to take part in the Salon de Champs-Élysées , their major exhibition. He had great success so that he could take part in this annual exhibition for the rest of his life. In 1889, his exhibited paintings received an official honorable mention by the SAF.

Ten days after his 51st birthday, Louis Muraton died in Paris, where he found his final resting place.
