Louis Schellenberg (full name Ferdinand Karl Wilhelm Ludwig Schellenberg , born October 11, 1852 in Wiesbaden , † April 21, 1920 ibid) was a German publisher .

Life

Schellenberg was born the son of the Wiesbaden publisher August Schellenberg and his wife Marie. Eight years after his father's death, he took over the L. Schellenberg'sche Hofdruckerei from his mother, who had meanwhile managed the business, in 1877 and the entire company two years later.

He fundamentally modernized the print shop and expanded it considerably. From 1887 onwards, the publisher's books and newspaper were produced using rotary printing , and in 1900 he introduced typesetting machines . In 1905 he had the press house built in the Wiesbadener Langgasse on the site of the former printing house , in which the Wiesbadener Tagblatt was first published and later the Wiesbadener Kurier .

After his death, his widow Marie took over the management of the publishing house, followed by his son Gustav in 1932 .
