Louise Ellman

Louise Ellman DBE MP (born November 14, 1945 in Manchester ) is a British politician and member of the House of Commons . She has represented the constituency of Liverpool Riverside there since the British general election in 1997 .

Originally a member of the Co-operative Party and the Labor Party , she left Labor in October 2019 due to differences with Jeremy Corbyn and concerns about growing anti-Semitism in the party. Shortly thereafter, Ellman announced that he would not run for a seat again in the upcoming House of Commons elections.

Ellman is a member of the Jewish Leadership Council and is an advocate of pro-Israeli politics.
