Louisiana Offshore Oil Port

Louisiana Offshore Oil Port is a port in Louisiana ( United States ), 29 kilometers south of Port Fourchon in the Bay Gulf of Mexico . This is an offshore port for oil tankers, as normal ports in the United States have insufficient water depth for the largest tankers. It is the only port in the United States where Ultra Large Crude Carriers (ULCCs) and Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) can be unloaded. It is a joint venture between Marathon Pipe Line, Shell Oil and the Valero Terminaling and Distribution Company.
