history

After Joe Weninghoff (born March 15, 1957 in Bevergern , North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany as Joseph Wenninghoff) had released five albums in bands like Marilyn and Zeitloop, the guitarist founded the Loving the Sun project with singer and lyricist Christina Pollmann in autumn 2004 . Weninghoff took the band name from a line of text from the song South Beach Quay from his debut album Dreaming of More . Together with Christina Pollmann and the background singer / guitarist Andrea Heukamp, ​​who was already known as a musician with The House of Love , he went to his own studio Neamusic to record the debut album Dreaming of More , which included the sound carriers Colorful and The Other in the same line-up Side of the World followed.

In 2006 the band switched from their own label, Nea Music, whose records were distributed by Pängg, to Sireena Records , distributed by Cargo and the online distributor Fuego . Christina Pollmann left the band in 2008. From 2009 to 2014 he created the albums Behind the Rainbow , The Path of Love and Spiritual Walk with the singer Alev Cetinyilmaz . In 2015, Loving the Sun with the title Little Girl placed for the first time in the "US National Airplay Top 50 Rock Charts" at number 38 and with Apple Tree at number 49 in the "National Airplay Top 50 Independent Charts".

In September 2015 Loving the Sun released the single Guardian Angel sung by Insa van Schwartzenberg, via Fuego / Nea Music, of which the B-side Nature ranked 26th in the DRT National Airplay Top 50 Adult Contemporary Charts, 9th in the European Indie Top 20 and Reached number 20 on the Official Music Charts Top 100 on November 8, 2016. Guests at the recordings are guitarist Siggi Mertens (Marilyn) and bassist Jörg Langanke (Münster Symphony Orchestra).

In the studio, Loving the Sun is supported by various musicians. On the album Colorful, the tracks Marathon and Eunora (Autumn Leaves) were recorded by musician and composer Sandro Friedrich with wind instruments such as duduk and flute . The Australian singer Marie Craven is on the album The Path of Love with the songs Taking Me Down and I Know, I Know , on Spiritual Walk with Beat of Your Heart and What You Say and on Behind the Rainbow with the songs To a Drumbeat , My Heart Opens , Away and Love You Only represented.

The single From the Darkness to the Light with the B-side The Unbreakable Bond , texted and sung by Ute Kuchenbecker was released in March 2017 by Fuego / Nea Music and reached the highest position in the DRT National Airplay Charts with position 16.
