Luís Galego
Luís Galego (born April 25, 1966 in Porto , Portugal) is a Portuguese chess grandmaster .
Life
Galego represented Portugal at all twelve Chess Olympiads from 1990 to 2012 , since 2002 on the top board. He also took part in the European Team Championships in 1989, 1992 and 2001. In Portugal, Galego played for Boavista Porto , with whom he participated ten times in the European Club Cup , in the British Four Nations Chess League in the 2011/12 season for the team Jutes of Kent , with which he also participated in the European Club Cup in 2012, and in the Spanish team championship in 2005 he played for CA Eborajedrez Talavera
He received the GM title from FIDE in 2002.
His highest rating was 2543 (April 2006). With a current Elo rating of 2451 (October 2015), he is behind Jorge Viterbo Ferreira in second place in the Portuguese ranking. Galego was Portuguese single champion in 1994, 2002, 2004 and 2005.
