Luis Gonzaga

Luís Gonzaga (born February 1, 1947 in Manutaci , Portuguese Timor ) is an East Timorese independence activist.

Gonzaga was a supporter of the resistance during the Indonesian occupation. Between 1991 and 1993 he hid Ma'huno Bulerek Karathayano , the commander of the Forças Armadas de Libertação Nacional de Timor-Leste (FALINTIL), and other guerrillas in his house in the Aldeia Mamurlau ( Suco Manutaci) several times . Gonzago was awarded the Medal des Ordem de Timor-Leste in 2016.
