Luca Marchegiani (born February 22, 1966 in Ancona ( AN )) is a former Italian goalkeeper .

Career

Marchegiani , who comes from the Marche region , began his career in the mid-80s at lower-class clubs before moving to Serie B at Brescia Calcio in 1987 . A year later he moved to Torino Calcio where he became the goalkeeper. In the mid-1990s he moved to Lazio Rome , where he was to stay for over 10 years before ending his career with Chievo Verona from 2003 to 2005 .

At the Football World Cup in 1994 he played three games for Italy and in 2000 was the first goalkeeper with Lazio as Italian champions.

As a professional Marchegiani completed a total of 625 games, 489 of which were league appearances. In his career he played exclusively for Italian clubs.
