Lucas Rafael Araújo Lima (born July 9, 1990 in Marília ), Lucas Lima for short , is a Brazilian football player . The attacking midfielder is under contract with Palmeiras São Paulo and plays for the Brazilian national team .
Career
societies
Lima switched from AA Internacional to SC Internacional in early July 2012 . In the 2012 season he came to 14 matches in the Series A . The 2013 season he played on loan at the second division Sport Recife . In Série B he scored seven goals in 36 games. Upon his return, Lima moved to FC Santos . There he quickly became a regular and scored his first goal in the Série A on May 30, 2014 in a 2-0 away win against EC Bahia . In his first two seasons, Lima made over 30 appearances.
At the beginning of 2018, Lima switched to league rivals Palmeiras São Paulo , with whom he won the championship title in the first season .
National team
After his strong performances in Santos, Lima was appointed to the Brazilian national team for the first time in September 2015 . On September 5, 2015, he made his debut in a 1-0 win over Costa Rica . On November 13, 2015, Lima scored his first international goal against Argentina by scoring the 1-1 final score. Lima was appointed to the Brazilian squad for the 2016 Copa América Centenario in the United States . In the tournament, he failed with his team after the group stage , in which Lima was used in all three games and scored a goal.
