Lucas Vorsterman the Elder (* 1595 in Antwerp ; † 1675 ) was a Dutch engraver and draftsman.

Life

He worked with Peter Paul Rubens and Anthonis van Dyck . Vorsterman was one of the most important engravers of Rubens' school, whose pictures he, like those of other Dutch and Flemish contemporaries, knew how to reproduce masterfully. In 1624 he went to England, where he worked for Thomas Howard, 21st Earl of Arundel and Charles I for eight years .
