Luchy Vicioso

Luchy Vicioso ( Lucia Fior Daliza Vicioso Alsina ; † February 18, 2019 ) was a Dominican singer.

Vicioso first appeared at the age of nine on the television program La hora del moro alongside Rafael Solano and Manuel Troncoso . Her first single was released the following year, and at the age of thirteen she released her first LP Matices with songs by Dominican composers, including Rafael Solanos. When she was eleven, she started her own television program with María Gracia Montés Fiallo and Aida Lucía under the title Los jueves de Luchy .

She later took part in numerous singing competitions, for example the 1975 Festival de la Voz y la Canción de Puerto Rico , where she won first prize with Dime que más debo dar por ti by Yaqui Núñez del Risco and René del Risco Bermúdez . In 1977 she sang at the Festival of the Organización de la Televisión Iberoamericana in Puerto Rico and received the third prize there. The Dominican government awarded her the Medalla al Mérito de la Mujer Dominicana . In 2014 she was awarded the Soberano Especial , the special prize of the Premio Soberano .
