Luciano Capitanio

Luciano Capitanio (* 1934 in Venice ; † 1969 ) was an Italian cartoonist .

Life

Capitanio has been known as a comic writer and draftsman in Italy since the 1950s, especially for his work on Disney comics ( Donald Duck , Mickey Mouse, etc.), many of which were also published in Germany. His stories can be found very often, especially in the first years of the LTB.

Capitanio's drawings are characterized by a classic comic style that is valued differently by comic fans: many appreciate its nostalgic charm, others criticize it for being out of date and inadequately detailed.

Capitanio was a cousin of Giorgio Cavazzano , who is also a well-known comic artist, and whom he often had his drawings inked. Capitanio thus played a major role in the beginning of Cavazzano's career.

In 1969 Capitanio died completely unexpectedly at the age of only 35 years.
