Giorgio Cavazzano
Giorgio Cavazzano (born October 19, 1947 in Venice ) is an Italian comic artist.
biography
Cavazzano was trained at the age of 12 by his older cousin Luciano Capitanio , whom he helped with the ink of his pencil drawings. From the age of 14, he worked for Romano Scarpa , who like him lived in Venice, and until 1973 washed his pencil drawings.
In 1967, at the age of 20, he made his own debut as a draftsman. His distinctive style quickly enjoyed great popularity. Special enthusiasm aroused his Casablanca - parody with the Ducks . Since Cavazzano draws quickly, he also had time to oversee other series in addition to the Disney stories. In 1988 he left the Italian Disney production and became head of comic production for the French magazine Pif . He also worked for years with the French scenario writer François Corteggiani . In addition to some joint Disney comics, various stories from the comic series Captain Rogers were created , the scenarios of which Disney star author Giorgio Pezzin had previously written. Today he works again as a draftsman for Topolino , the Italian version of Mickey Mouse magazine, but mainly draws longer comics for Disney publications in paperback form.
In 2006 he published an edition of Spider-Man (Italian: L'uomo ragno ) drawn by him under the title Il Segreto del vetro .
Works in German (selection)
It would be pointless to list here all of Cavazzano's Disney stories in German. A list of the stories that he designed for the French comic magazine Pif Gadget and that appeared in German in Yps is currently not possible, since no one has apparently yet tried to match the stories published in German with the originals. The other works by Cavazzano, which appeared in German, are manageable and should be mentioned here, as they are all too easily lost in the mass of other productions:
- Peter O 'Pencil
- Peter drives the west wild; in Zack 16 - 20/1979
- Peter Turns the West Wild [in Zack Super Album 1] (Koralle, 1981); Reprint of the stories published in Zack 21, 22, 24/1979 and 4, 5/1980; not identical to the previous story
- More short stories in Zack 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, 30/1980 and in Zack Parade 37, 41, 44
- Captain Rogers (2 volumes)
- Everything roger, Rogers ?! (Ehapa, 1987)
- The Bounty Hunter (Arboris, 1990)
- Jungle Town (Ehapa, 2007)
- Spider-Man in Venice (Panini, 2007)
- The Dragon Knights (Ehapa, anthology of the story published in sequels in TGDD-S)
