François Corteggiani (2010)

François Corteggiani (born September 21, 1953 in Nice ) is a French comic book author and illustrator.

Before Corteggiani turned to the medium of comics in 1974 , he worked as an advertising artist after graduating from high school. Initially at Spirou , he later moved to Pif Gadget magazine . Originally working as a draftsman, he later wrote scenarios for other draftsmen. In 1979 he began a collaboration with Pierre Tranchand , which resulted in Chafouin et Baluchon , Bastos and Zakusky (Bastos et Zakousky), Mandarine (Marine) and Smith & Wesson (Smith et Weston) . After the death of Jean-Michel Charlier , Corteggiani took over the series The Youth of Blueberry (La Jeunesse de Blueberry) as a copywriter in 1990 . In 2004 he became editor-in-chief of the reissued Pif Gadget magazine .

In addition, Corteggiani works on the series Sundance (drawings: Michel Suro ), Thunderhawks (drawings: Colin Wilson ) and Tatjana K. (fr. Tatiana K. , drawings: Félix Meynet / Emanuele Barison ).

Corteggiani often worked with the draftsman Giorgio Cavazzano . Together they created a series of stories with Pif, the dog , and with Disney characters, but also series such as Thimotée Titan , Peter O'Pencil (originally: Silas Finn) and Captain Rogers .
