Luciano Fornasari

Luciano Fornasari (around 1800 in Verona - January 5, 1859 in Venice ) was an Italian opera singer ( bass ).

Life

Nothing is known about Fornasari's childhood and education. He began his stage career around 1828 at various large Italian opera houses. In 1831 he performed in Milan and then went to North America (1831-1834). In New York he was involved in the US premiere of Rossini's L'italiana in Algeri . He gave guest appearances in Havana in 1835, in Mexico City in 1836 and in 1837 at the Théâtre d'Orléans in New Orleans on the occasion of the US premiere of the Rossini opera Semiramide . From 1840 to 1842 he was back in Europe, there at the Teatro San Carlos in Lisbon. He then went on a guest tour that took him to Rome, Modena, Palermo, Turin and Trieste. From 1843 to 1846 he was in London.

After the end of his career he moved to Venice in a palazzo that he had bought. He was married to the singer Teresa Aman .
