Luciano Tesi

Luciano Tesi (born December 10, 1931 in Monsummano Terme ) is an Italian astronomer . In the 1980s he founded the Gruppo Astrofili della Montagna Pistoiese , an association of amateur astronomers. In the 1990s he initiated the construction of the Osservatorio Astronomico della Montagna Pistoiese , whose management he took over after completion.

Tesi is the discoverer of currently (as of Jan. 2010) more than 200 asteroids , many of them together with Andrea Boattini .

The Cupid asteroid (15817) Lucianotesi was named after him on October 13, 2000.
