Lucie von Hanstein

Lucie von Hanstein , married Baeblich , (born July 25, 1835 in Berlin , † around 1923 in Groß-Lichterfelde ) was a German writer .

Life

She was born as the daughter of Pastor Ludwig von Hanstein in Berlin. While attending secondary school for girls , she wrote poems that were recited at school parties. Stories she wrote at the age of 15 were printed in a youth newspaper. At the age of 19 she passed the teacher examination in 1854 and from then on taught in a Berlin secondary school for girls.

In 1861 she married the then headmaster and later rector and librarian of the municipal school museum in Berlin, Alexander Baeblich. From Christmas 1882, stories and humoresques appeared in the magazine Die Post . They were later collected and published in book form. The critics praised the works for their fine humor.
