Lucifuge Rofocale is considered one of the seven princes of hell in demonology . According to instructions written in Latin for conjuring demons with prayers for protection from the 15th century, he is subject to Lucifer and is one of the high spirits .

Surname

The name Lucifuge comes from the Latin words: lux (gen. Lucis) and fugere (to flee), which means something like "who flees the light" . The name "Rofocal" could mean a servant.
