Lucille Starr
Lucille Starr , real name Lucille Raymonde Marie Cunningham , (born May 13, 1938 in Saint-Boniface ) is a Canadian country singer.
Starr grew up in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam . In 1954 she came to Vancouver , where she formed the Canadian Sweethearts duo with Bob Regan . The two married and moved to Los Angeles . Her solo song The French Song ( Quand le soleil dit bonjour aux montagnes , 1964) and the album of the same name were a worldwide success and brought her as the first Canadian singer a gold record. The album also included the hit Colinda .
In 1981, her album Sun Shines Again was released after she had cured singer nodules. Lucille Starr was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989 .
