Lucius Valerius Flaccus (suffect consul 86 BC)
Lucius Valerius Flaccus († beginning of 85 BC ) was a politician of the late Roman Republic .
Flaccus was 99 or 98 BC. Chr. Aedile and was designed by Gaius Appuleius Decianus accused unsuccessful. He then became (perhaps 95 or 93 BC) praetor and then governor of Asia . 86 BC He was a suffect consul (after-elected consul for Gaius Marius , who died at the beginning of his seventh consulate ), took command against Mithridates of Pontus , passed a law that reduced debts to a quarter, and then set out east. Flaccus was not popular with the soldiers. The main charge against him is avarice. He was slain in a mutiny. His successor was the more militarily qualified legate Gaius Flavius Fimbria .
