Ludolf von Schwanebeck

Ludolf von Schwanebeck was canon of Magdeburg. His election as Bishop of Brandenburg was not confirmed by the Pope. He belonged to the Premonstratensian Order .

Life

In 1196, Ludolf von Schwanebeck was first mentioned as a layperson . From 1200 to 1203 he was canon of Magdeburg. He was Elekt of Brandenburg from 1220. After the death of Bishop Siegfried II , he was elected bishop by the Brandenburg chapter . However, he was no more confirmed as bishop by the Pope than the Wichmann von Arnstein appointed by the Leitzkauer Chapter . Instead, Gernand von Brandenburg was appointed bishop in succession to Siegfried II . Ludolf was from January 30, 1225 to June 4, 1232 Scholastikus of Mainz . Ludolf was last mentioned in a document as Canon of Magdeburg in 1241.
