Ludwig Eich

Ludwig Eich (born August 18, 1942 in Solscheid, a district of Buchholz (Westerwald) ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the German Bundestag .

Life

After attending primary school, Eich worked as a farmer, construction worker and drop blacksmith before retraining to become a data processing clerk. In 1969 he joined the SPD and soon after became the SPD sub-district manager. He became a member of the SPD district executive and moved into the district council in 1976. In 1983 he was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, where he stayed until 1990 when he moved into the Bundestag. He was a member of the Bundestag until 2002. Eich is married and has two children. He is a member of ÖTV, AWO, BUND and Greenpeace and was awarded the Umwelttaler of the Federal Environment and Nature Conservation Germany eV (BUND) .

Honor

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate honored him in 2007 with the award of the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
