Ludwig Schmahl

Hans Ludwig Schmahl (* 1943 in Schleswig ) is a German administrative lawyer and deacon. Since 2009 he has been a professor in the Administration Department at the University of Applied Sciences Witelon in Legnica .

Life

Ludwig Schmahl graduated from high school in 1963 at the cathedral school in Schleswig . He studied at the Faculty of Law at the Free University of Berlin from 1963 to 1967 . He passed the First State Examination in 1967 at the Judicial Examination Office in Berlin and the Great State Examination in 1971 at the Judicial Examination Office in Hamburg. He then received his doctorate at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel on the subject of "The Adhesion Procedure in Danish Law".

In 1971 Schmahl was employed as a councilor at the Ministry of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein. From August 1971 to September 1973 he worked in the supply administration of Schleswig-Holstein and meanwhile deputy head of the Schleswig pension office. He was then seconded to the city of Itzehoe and represented the mayor from October 1973 to November 1975 in matters of instruction. He was the head of the city's legal department, trainee law instructor, and trainee inspector. From December 1975 to September 1979 he was head of the “ General Internal Administration ” department at the Administrative College in Kiel.

On October 1, 1979 he was appointed professor at the Federal University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration , and in 1994 he was seconded to the Federal Ministry of the Interior . This was followed by teaching positions at the Europa-Institut Saarbrücken and at the Legnica State University of Applied Sciences in Poland. Since 2008 he has been a professor at the Witelon State Administration College in Legnica.

From 1989 to 1993 Schmahl also studied Catholic theology at the Archbishop's Diaconal Institute in Cologne. In 1993 he was ordained a deacon . In March 2009 the Archbishop of Cologne appointed him judge at the official office .
