Ludwig Sinsel

Ludwig Maximilian Albert Sinsel (born November 12, 1884 in Leipzig , † March 23, 1968 in Dessau ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD , SED ).

Life

Sinsel learned the profession of lithographer and worked as a chemigrapher until 1920 . From 1910 to 1927 he was chairman of the branch of the Lithographers Association in Dessau. He joined the Social Democrats and was active in the trade union movement. From July 1920 to 1930 he worked as an editor for the Volksblatt für Anhalt in Dessau. In addition, he was chairman of the General German Trade Union Federation (ADGB) in Dessau from 1920 to 1928 .

Sinsel was a city councilor from 1919 to 1930 and a paid city councilor from 1931 to 1933 in Dessau. From 1924 to June 23, 1933 he was a member of the state parliament of the Free State of Anhalt .

During the time of National Socialism , Sinsel was briefly taken into “ protective custody ” in 1936 , and in 1944 he was transferred to the Buchenwald concentration camp .

After the Second World War , Sinsel was again involved in local politics in Dessau. In 1945 he became head of the Office for Labor and Social Welfare, was a city councilor and from 1947 to 1952 city councilor, most recently as a member of the SED parliamentary group.
