Ludwig Teichmann

Ludwig Teichmann (born May 14, 1909 in Uelzen ; † January 24, 1947 in Belgrade ) was a German SS-Obersturmbannführer and leader of Einsatzgruppe E in Croatia .

He joined the SS on June 1, 1929 (SS No. 1.789). He also became a member of the NSDAP at an early stage ( membership number 134.523).

On October 1, 1932, Teichmann was promoted to the rank of officer and appointed SS-Untersturmführer. Further promotions took place on June 11, 1933 to SS-Hauptsturmführer, on April 20, 1935 to SS-Sturmbannführer and on September 13, 1936 to SS-Obersturmbannführer.

Teichmann was leader of Einsatzgruppe E in Croatia from August 2, 1941 to April 24, 1943 and then worked as a police officer in the German military administration in Serbia .

After his capture, proceedings against Teichmann and 20 other war crimes accused were opened before the Yugoslav Military Court in Belgrade on December 9, 1946 . By decision of the court on December 22, 1946, he was sentenced to death and hanged on January 24, 1947 in Belgrade .
