Ludwig Wagner (politician)

Ludwig Wagner (born August 13, 1854 in Krenstetten ; † April 30, 1926 ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP ), innkeeper and business owner. From 1909 to 1926 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria and mayor of Stoitzendorf.

Wagner attended a one-class elementary school and then graduated from the trade school in Waidhofen an der Ybbs . He learned the trade of baker and did his military service, where he was deployed in 1878 during the occupation of Bosnia. Professionally, Wagner worked as an innkeeper and business owner. Politically, he was active in the local council for over 40 years, including 30 years as an executive councilor. In addition, he was from 1910 1910 chairman of the district road committee, also a member of the district poor council and the personal income tax assessment commission as well as a member of the state culture council. He represented the Christian Social Party between January 8, 1909 and January 8, 1915 in the Lower Austrian state parliament, where he was elected as a member of the judicial districts of Haag and St. Peter in der Au. After the First World War, he was a member of the provisional state assembly from November 5, 1918 to May 4, 1919. He then belonged to the state parliament from May 20, 1919, where he was a member of the Lower Austria-Land Curia between November 30, 1920 and May 11, 1921 during the phase of separation of Vienna from Lower Austria. Wagner was a member of the state parliament until his death on April 30, 1926.

Wagner was honored with the award of honorary citizenship in around 20 communities.
