Ludwig Weinberger was a German wheelwright that was based in Munich .

The company was run by Ludwig Weinberger sen. (Cousin of Karl Weinberger senior ) opened in 1898 as a wagon factory. The company was on the same street in Munich as Karl Weinberger, but had nothing to do with him. Initially, horse-drawn vehicles were manufactured, and since 1904 bodies for cars have also been made. However, only one-off productions were made on customer request, and this on a wide variety of chassis.

In 1931 Ludwig Weinberger jun. into the company; Weinberger took over a BMW agency almost at the same time . Since then, superstructures - often open two-seaters - have been used almost exclusively on BMW chassis. By the Second World War , around 300 bodies were built, including a particularly striking piece based on a Bugatti Royale that belonged to the doctor Josef Fuchs, who came from Nuremberg and emigrated to the USA.

In 1953 Ludwig Weinberger gave up the business for reasons of age.
