Ruth Noack

Ruth Noack (born January 12, 1964 in Heidelberg ) is an art historian and exhibition organizer. She was the curator of documenta 12 in Kassel (June 16 to September 23, 2007).

Life

After graduating from high school in Bremen , which Ruth Noack attended with Roger Buergel , she studied art history, audiovisual media and feminist theory in Germany, the USA, England and Austria. She began giving lectures in 1990, and her first publication appeared in 1992. In 2000 she began teaching at the University of Vienna, the University of Applied Arts, Vienna (film theory) and the University of Lüneburg . Since 2001, Noack has been working on the topic of “Construction of Childhood” as part of a research project. In 2002/03 she was President of AICA (International Association of Art Critics) Austria.
