Ron Ringguth
Ronald "Ron" Ringguth (born February 3, 1966 in Oschersleben ) is a German reporter , commentator, presenter , producer , toy - inventor and freelance entrepreneur .
Career
After graduating from high school in Oschersleben in 1984 and serving in the army, Ringguth completed a degree in computer science from 1987 to 1995 at the TU Dresden with a degree in computer science.
In 1990 Ringguth founded the independent student newspaper “ad rem” in Dresden, which he later ran as managing editor. At the same time he began to work as a freelancer for various daily newspapers and the radio station "Sachsenradio". Since the MDR was founded in 1992, Ron Ringguth has worked for MDR 1 Radio Sachsen and for MDR Sachsenspiegel. He later produced contributions for other ARD stations, for ZDF breakfast television and for Deutsche Welle TV.
In 1993, Ringguth began as a track spokesman at the Altenberg racing sled and bobsled run. Ron Ringguth had an international bobsleigh license for several years and started together with other amateur bobsleigh riders and former "professionals" in races or starting competitions.
In August 1996, Ron Ringguth was appointed as a commentator for the Track Cycling World Championships at Eurosport . The role of the substitute became a permanent commitment to the Pan-European Sports Channel. In addition to his special disciplines such as bobsleigh, tobogganing, track cycling, rallying and weightlifting, Ringguth could also be heard in exotic sports such as deep-sea fishing or arm wrestling. In total, Ron Ringguth has reported 9 Olympic Games for Eurosport since 1998. He also broadcast various bobsleigh and skeleton competitions for the North American broadcasters SPEED, Universal Sports, NBC and CBC in English. In the winter of 2006/07, Ringguth commented on the bobsleigh and skeleton competitions for the pay TV station Arena . Together with Dirk Raudies and Lenz Leberkern, he commented on the motorcycle world championship between 2003 and 2008 and 2015 .
Ron Ringguth has been part of Stefan Raab's TV total events team on ProSieben since 2003 . He commented on almost all races of the Wok World Cup , all high diving and stock car challenges as well as the big TV Total Parallel Slalom and the mascot world championship. He had a number of appearances on Stefan Raab's Show TV total, including the Headis Spezials . In the 49th episode, Schlag den Raab , Ringguth took over the role of Frank Buschmann's commentator . This show became the longest edition of Stefan Raab's game show because of the game Ringing the Bull , which had no winner in the end. As a permanent representative of Buschmann, he acted in seasons 3 and 6 of Schlag den Star . Since December 2018, Ringguth has been an integral part of the program at Elton's side as a commentator. He also comments on the offshoot Schlag den Beste , which has been produced since 2019 . After Raab's departure, Ron Ringguth commented on various game shows on Sat. 1 ( ran to the man, duel of the stars - the Sat.1 celebrity arena, Superpets, Little Big Stars). At DMAX, Ringguth hosted the show "Barrett Jackson" at the side of Karl Geiger (Boss of Big Blocks) and in the summer of 2018 he commented on the "Devils Race".
As a music producer, music publisher and label manager, Ringguth produced TV music for sporting events (e.g. Leipzig Olympic applications, European Swimming Championships in Berlin) and worldwide TV broadcasts (bobsleigh world cups, ...).
Ringguth lives in Dresden and has two sons.
criticism
In June 2020, Ringguth was criticized as a commentator on the show Schlag die Star for having made a comment on the show to a candidate in relation to the death of George Floyd , which was received as inappropriate. The station ProSieben distanced itself after the broadcast on Twitter , Ringguth apologized live during the broadcast.
