Ludwig von Waldeck

Ludwig von Waldeck (* in the 14th century; † September 30, 1354 ) was canon in various dioceses and cathedral scholasters in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Ludwig von Waldeck was the son of Count Otto von Waldeck († 1305) and his wife Sophia von Hessen, daughter of Landgrave Heinrich I von Hessen . His uncle Adolf von Waldeck was Bishop of Liège . Gottfried , his other uncle, was Bishop of Minden. The Münster bishop Ludwig was his maternal uncle.

Act

Ludwig was first mentioned in a document on August 6, 1337 as the canon of Münster. From 1337 to 1346 he was also canon in Minden. After the death of Minden Bishop Ludwig , he was active in the provisional monastery government. From 1341 Ludwig also owned a canonical in Bremen and was also a cathedral scholaster in Münster. In this function he was responsible for the management of the cathedral school .
