Lugaid Lága

Lugaid Lága [ 'Luɣið' Laːɣa ] is the name of a legendary hero in the Finn and Mythological Cycle of Celtic Mythology of Ireland .

Lugaid Lága is the brother of King Ailill Aulom . In the short story Cath Maige Mucrama ("The Battle of Mag Mucrama") he fights alongside Lugaid mac Con . He later became a follower of Cormac mac Airt . In the Finn cycle he is considered an excellent fighter in the Fianna by Fionn mac Cumhaill .

Another Lugaid is mentioned in the story Aided Chon Culainn ("The Death of Cú Chulainn"). He is an ally of Erc mac Cairbri Niad-Fer and Cú Chulainn's mortal enemy , kills him with a spear throw and cuts off his head. Conall Cernach later avenges the death of his foster brother on the murderers.
