Luigi Giorgio

Luigi Giorgio (born September 12, 1966 in Bari ) is a former Italian racing driver .

Racing career

Luigi Giorgio was an active driver in motorsport in the early 1990s. In 1991 he drove eight races in the British Formula 3000 Championship , but could not place. The championship was won by Paul Warwick , who had a fatal accident in the fifth race at Oulton Park and was declared overall winner after the end of the season Postum . In the same year he contested the Le Mans 24-hour race . Together with Almo Coppelli , he drove a Lancia LC2 , the chassis of which was already seven years old. The team had to struggle with considerable technical problems on the vehicle, could only cover 111 laps and was not classified.

In 1992 he competed in the Italian Touring Car Championship and finished the season fifth overall (champion Fabrizio Giovanardi ).
