Luigi Lavazza

Luigi Lavazza (born April 24, 1859 in Murisengo ; † August 16, 1949 there ) was an Italian entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Lavazza coffee company , which was founded in Turin in 1895 .

The origins of the Lavazza company go back to 1895 when he bought the small grocery store Paissa Olivero in Turin for around 26,000 Italian lire. Lavazza owed its fortune to the idea of ​​selling different types of coffee in just one quality level.

He had 7 children. When Lavazza retired in 1936, his three sons Mario, Beppe and Pericle took over the company.
