Luigi Stefanini

Luigi Stefanini (born November 3, 1891 in Treviso , † January 16, 1956 in Padua ) was an Italian philosopher and educator.

Stefanini studied philosophy at the University of Padua and this university he remained connected to in his further academic career. From 1931 he taught pedagogy there, from 1937 as a full professor. In 1940 he changed from the chair for education to the chair for the history of philosophy. Stefanini has produced numerous publications in the fields of the history of philosophy and aesthetics. His own philosophical position is close to the line of thought of personalism .

Nowadays a foundation, the "Fondazione Luigi Stefanini" in Treviso, which also looks after the philosopher's private library, is devoting itself to the discussion about the significance of his work.
