Luis Mejía Oviedo

Luis Mejía Oviedo (born September 4, 1953 ) is a Dominican businessman, publicist and sports official.

General

Luis Mejía Oviedo studied economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and graduated there. He also took courses in communication technology at the Pontifical Catholic University "Mater et Magistra" .

After completing his studies, Mejía Oviedo was employed in the administration of various Dominican companies. Since 1996 he has been producing programs and contributions for cable television and radio.

Sports administration

Luis Mejía Oviedo first dealt with administrative tasks in baseball and softball. From 19813 to 2009 he was president of the national softball association. Since 2003 he has been president of the Dominican NOK. Before that, from 1991 to 2003, he was the General Secretary of the NOK.

IOC membership

In 2017, Luis Mejía Oviedo was elected an IOC member.
